A City that Moves
Dear Friend,
Today I'm announcing my vision for a sustainable transportation future for Ottawa.
The people of Ottawa want relief on our roadways and buses and they want it now, not in 20 years. Our commuters want to get to their workplaces in a reliable, economic and environmentally-friendly manner by their choice of car, transit, cycle or walking.
We need to get our city ready for the challenges of the new century by reducing our carbon footprint while offering better transportation options to all our citizens - not just those who live in certain areas.
My integrated transportation policy platform: A City that Moves outlines my specific plans for:
- LRT in 4 (Light Rail Transit across Ottawa in 4 years)
- Optimizing the bus service
- Maintaining our roads
- Improving routes for cyclists and pedestrians
- Developing an inter-city commuter train network
This is an ambitious vision; one that I believe is shared by many Ottawans who have been frustrated with the lack of progress on transportation.
Just as I delivered the pilot light rail service from South Keys to Bayview as city councillor, I promise to to make better transportation a reality for all Ottawans.
Please join me for an Open House to discuss my transportation platform "A City that Moves" this Thursday September 9 from 7:30-8:30 at the Hintonburg Community Centre, 1064 Wellington. I hope to see you there.
It's time to get Ottawa on the Right Track.
Sincerely,

Clive Doucet
Candidate for Mayor of Ottawa
